This paper focuses on the essentials of composing bilingual dictionaries of professional English for the needs of a specific group of learners. In addition, two dictionaries, an English-Mongolian Dictionary of Accounting Terms /2007, 2008, 2014/, and an English-Mongolian Dictionary of Taxation Terms /2013/, and the current translation of the glossary Financial Markets and Institutions (9th edition) by Frederic S. Mishkin, Stanley G. Eakins are analyzed in terms of their structure, entries and translations. The dictionaries are compared on the basis of their specific and correct translations to the corresponding language through a number of the same entry words appearing in the dictionaries arranged in a table. Moreover, the paper evaluates the various issues involved in composing these dictionaries including the degree to which they successfully serve the needs of their target audiences and formulates a set of parameters for developing these types of terminological dictionaries.
