Tree growth and its biomass accumulation are dependent on their crown development. The aim of this study was to determine the relationships between tree stem growth and crown morphological parameters in the Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) plantations. Two 12- years old 50 м × 50 м (2500 m2) sized sample plot were established in the Tujiin nars National park, Selenge province. In sample plots, tree height, stem diameter, crown base, crown diameter in four directions were measured. Our results showed a gradual increase in annual increment starting from third year following transplanting the seedlings in the field. Here, very little height increment was observed during the first 2 years (5.9 – 7.8 cm/year), and which gradually rise up to 49.3±2.2 cm/year at the 12 years of age. Therefore, we found symmetrical crown development on the plantation, where the crown radius in 4 directions had almost the same meaning. We conclude that stem growth dependents on crown height and diameter in the plantation.
