Investors aim to increase their profits by investing in the stock market. One possible strategy for minimization of risk is by enlarging or varying its field of operation for the portfolio. In this paper, we propose a six-step stocks portfolio selection model. This model is based on data mining clustering techniques that reflect the impact of Mongolian political, economic, legal, and corporate governance. As a dataset, we have selected stock exchange trading price, financial statements, and operational report information of TOP-20 highly capitalized stocks traded at the Mongolian Stock Exchange from 2013-to 2017. To cluster stock returns and risks, we have used K-means clustering techniques. We have combined both K-means clustering with Markowitz's portfolio theory to create an optimal, efficient portfolio. We constructed an efficient frontier, 15 portfolios created, and calculated the weight of stocks in each portfolio. From these portfolio options, the investor can choose according to his behavior.
Due to rapid development of information technology and drastic innovations in technology that change customers' media use behavior, it is necessary to analyze the data and make systematic predictions in media planning and selection. Our research used linear programming method to plan and select media and put forward the most effective way to deliver advertising to the most targeted users at the lowest cost. In this study we used data from 2,451 households in 9 districts of Ulaanbaatar, 17 local aimags*, and 26 soums* in the 2020 National Syndicate Survey to determine the lifestyle of Mongolians, as well as data from more than 300 media outlets of 9 types, including such as television, internet, and social media. The study examined the factors that influence amount of time spent on television, website, social media, and FM radio using multinomial logit and multinomial probit models. However, the fact that consumers spend a lot of time on a media outlet does not mean that their purchasing decision will be affected. Therefore, we used the feature selection method based on 16 indicators to determine which media channel ad the customer viewed and made a purchase. We analyzed media users based on 54 data mining and classification indicators, including age, gender, and location. As a result of the study we developed a framework, highlighted the national media use behavior, and proposed a media planning methodology for businesses. The principal author of the article Mr. Amgalanbaatar Dagdandorj is a doctoral student at the Department of Marketing and International Trade of the Business School, National University of Mongolia. He is a CEO of the research and consultation company Mongolian Marketing Consulting group. He developed a research methodology for the National media use syndicate survey and received the copyright certificate. The current research analyzed the survey data implemented during the last eight consecutive years in Mongolia within the dissertation framework of Efficient planning and selection of media advertising using linear programming and machine learning methods as a requirement for a degree of Doctor in Business Administration. As for this work, D. Amgalanbaatar, as the principal author of the article, worked on the research data analysis, developed a methodology and modeling as well as media planning model and recommendations for its application. The last author of this article, Dr. Batnasan Namsrai, works as a Professor at the Marketing and International Trade Department of the Business School, National University of Mongolia. He is the academic advisor of the doctoral student and worked as a consultant in developing the methodology and design of the National media use syndicate survey. As the last author of the current article, he formulated a general methodology and developed the logic and format of a scientific article. The findings and the planning model developed on its basis can be the primary source for effective planning of the country's marketing and advertising activities of Mongolian business, government and media organizations.

Despite the impressive success of trade liberalization and globalization, countries continue to find ways to develop their domestic industries. In this regard, the concepts of comparative advantages should be at the heart of the national economic development policy, where it refers to the export activities in which a country performs better than others. The purpose of this paper is to first explain the theoretical foundation of the protection of domestic industry according to recent theories; secondly, assess the present situation of protectionism in our country; lastly, to raise some actual problems and solutions of its development. Keywords: Protectionism, domestic industry, tariff regulation, non-tariff regulation
The concept of comparative advantage has always been at the heart of the national economic development policy, where it refers to the export goods which a country produces better than others. Mongolia is a small, landlocked country, situated at great distances from the world’s major transport channels and sea ports, which mainly exports agricultural and mining products to world markets and depends on imported goods for its domestic consumption. The landlocked countries are primarily affected not only by high transportation costs but also by low competitiveness in the global market. Persisting global food vulnerability and lack of food supply call for revision of existing policies and regulations on food production and distribution and agricultural products. Due to increased soil degradation, growing climate changes, population growth and rapid urbanization, some countries are now facing a severe scarcity of pastureland and planting areas, food supply shortages and significant rises in food prices. Historically, Mongolia has benefited from the export of its raw agricultural materials, such as cashmere, wool, meat, etc. However, rapid urbanization, growing population needs and high import prices in recent years, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, urges the shift from its static comparative advantage of an economy to dynamic one. Mongolia must pursue a trade policy aimed at creating value added end products capable of meeting the demands of its domestic consumption and competing in the international arena on the basis of development potentials and comparative advantages of the country. The objective of this paper is to illustrate how tariff optimization could potentially be used to protect the domestic industry, with specific focus on the dairy production industry.

Transport infrastructure is one of the key issues of Mongolian foreign economic cooperation. This paper explores the nexus between transport infrastructure and country's trade performance, which will help contribute to our understanding of how the quality of internal transportation infrastructure affects regional access to international markets.

In international trade theory the concept of the elasticity of demand for a country's export advanced as one of the chief determinants of the effects of national products. Functional representations of two-input technologies have been analyzed with constant elasticity of substitution (CES) and of n-input technologies with constant and identical elasticities for all pairs of inputs. Finally, the paper explores the relationship between elasticity values and the comparative statics of factor income shares and the relationships between certain elasticity identities and separability conditions rationalizing consistent aggregation of subsets of inputs. We define an optimal elasticity coefficient for some class of production functions by using optimality conditions.
