By involving Specially protected areas, their environmental zones, and ecologically linked areas which were selected to determine the main criteria for evaluating the results of sustainable pasture management, we conducted a research work of collecting the basic information or database for sustainable pasture management in 4 provinces’ 10 soums. This article presents the typology of the grasslands Khar-us Nuur National park in Buyant soum of Khovd province.We followed the methodology specified in this order to calculate the carrying capacity of each type of pasture.The grazing capacity of each soum was calculated based on our field research materials according to the natural zoning and the results of the 2022 photo-monitoring report of soum.100276.2 hectares or 53.46% of the territory of Buyant soum Khovd province is desert steppe, 50327.72 hectares or 26.83% is desert-like steppe, 36958.81 hectares or 19.70% belongs to dry steppe zone, it has 187562.7 hectares of pasture land, 53421 or 109325 thousand head of sheep, vegetation cover is 42.74%.

We followed the methodology specified in this order to calculate the carrying capacity of each type of pasture. The grazing capacity of each soum was calculated based on our field research materials according to the natural zoning and the results of the 2022 photo-monitoring report of soum. The territory of Tsetseg soum of Khovd province has 25,000.0 hectares in the desert-like steppe zone, 320,197 hectares in the dry steppe zone, it has 135,483 or 195,003.7 thousand head of sheep, vegetation cover is 37.63%, a yield is 0.54 centner/hectares, 81% of the pasture area is being used and there is pasture resource for 46497.92 head of sheep. Abstract. The results of the study of the Achillea asiatica Serg samples collected in the area of Kharhiraa mountain in Uvs province of Mongolia in July 2023 are presented in the paper. The content of macro, micro, and ultra-micro elements in plants was carried out by X-ray fluorescence quantitative analysis. The ash of Achillea asiatica Serg has a relatively high content of oxides such as calcium oxide, magnesium oxide, phosphorus oxide, and siliga oxide. Achillea asiatica Serg has a relatively high content of trace elements such as copper, zinc and barium. The amount of lead in Achillea asiatica Serg meets the requirements of GOST 30178-96 [32]. The amount of nickel in Achillea asiatica Serg meets the requirements for medicinal plants [30]. The amount of arsenic, chromium, tin, vanadium, cobalt andleadin Achillea asiatica Serg did not exceed the standard limits [2]. The amounts of cerium, tantalum, tungsten, uranium, thorium, samarium, neodymium, hafnium, lanthanum, antimony and scandium in Achillea asiatica Serg meet the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) reference requirements [28]. In Achillea asiatica Serg heavy elements such as arsenic, chromium, vanadium, cobalt, lead, nickel and tin did not exceed the standard limits [2], indicating that this plant can be cultivated in urban areas.
Khovd State University is the first university established in the western region of Mongolia. Many plants which have great practical and scientific significance in Western Mongolia have been keeping in the plant fund of Khovd State University. There are over 12000 dried research materials which have been collected by scholars for almost 30 years. The plant fund of the university was established by the professors of Biology Department in 1979. The first dried research material called Nepeta Sibirica.L was brought by D.Oyunchimeg form Erdeneburem soum, Khovd on the 10th of October, 1979. The collected dried materials from The western five provinces and Graidsvolid city in Western German are kept in the plant fund.
