Хураангуй: Энэхүү өгүүллээрээ Англи хэлний сонсохын өмнөх дасгалуудын зорилго, эдгээр дасгал ажлууд болон оюутнуудын гүйцэтгэсэн даалгаврыг үнэлэх онооны хооронд хамаарал бий эсэх, хэрэв бий бол ямар төрлийн асуултууд нөлөөлж байна вэ, сонсохын өмнөх дасгалуудыг хэрхэн үр дүнтэй зохион байгуулж заах вэ гэдгийг туршилтаар тодотгохыг зорив. Түүнчлэн оюутан сурагчид эдгээр дасгалын үр өгөөжийг хэрхэн үнэлж байна вэ - гэдгийг гаргаж ирэхийн тулд Ахисан-дунд түвшний 53 оюутнаас асуулга судалгаа авлаа. Судалгааны үр дүнд сонсголын өмнөтгөл дасгалууд нь оюутнуудад сонсох сэдэл төрүүлж, сэдвийн дагуух өмнөх мэдлэгийг нь сэргээн, тодорхой үгсийн санг таниулж, сонсох даалгаврын агуулгыг таамаглан өөрийн өмнөх мэдлэгтэйгээ уялдуулах, гадаад хэлээр сонсохоос үүдэлтэй сэтгэлийн түгшүүрийг бууруулж анхаарал төвлөрөлтийг нэмэгдүүлэх зэрэг ач холбогдолыг улам бататгав.
Teaching and learning a foreign language is a very long and effort-demanding process from both the teachers and learners. Thus, language instructors must be able to organize the class in interesting and effective ways. One of the effective teaching methods for English language is using TED Talks as a language learning tool. Our experiment covering totally 98 students who register for upper-intermediate and advanced level Academic English course demonstrated some positive results that TED Talks could be one of effective tools for the students. The questionnaire results followed after the experiment have encouraged us to regularly apply this tool for other level students, too.
Abstract: The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and AI-powered tools in English education has revolutionized teaching and learning practices, particularly in enhancing writing skills and pedagogy. This article explores the multifaceted impact of AI in English education, focusing on its potential to improve writing skills development, personalize learning experiences, streamline teaching practices, and expand access to resources and support. AI tools offer students immediate feedback, personalized instruction, and access to diverse learning resources, while enabling teachers to optimize their instructional practices, save time, and provide targeted support. However, challenges such as algorithmic bias, privacy concerns, and overreliance on AI tools must be addressed to ensure ethical and responsible use of technology in education. By fostering a balanced approach to AI integration and promoting student-centered learning, educators can harness the transformative potential of AI to empower students as proficient writers, critical thinkers, and lifelong learners in the digital age.
Teachers, especially university teachers, must be lifelong learners for what they are doing is an excellent act of optimism. Most of them, as well as other professionals, learn a good deal more out of school than in it. They are all adult learners. They learn from their families, their colleagues, their teaching experiences, and even their students. They also learn from problems resolved, tasks achieved, and mistakes confronted. You do not learn a subject from teachers but from life. That's why it is said in every culture that teaching is both a challenging and a noble job. In the face of disrespect, misbehavior, and lack of student enthusiasm, teachers are the believers. They see the light at the end of the tunnel, and they lead step by step - truly the greatest act of optimism.
The aim of the presentation is to show what the appropriate examination methods of English language testing are, to evaluate students' knowledge and academic skills in line with the lesson plan in the curriculum, and to clarify the fundamental role of a progress test and final exam. Also, a questionnaire was conducted among students of NUM which explores what the attitude of students is toward academic English language testing, how they evaluate its importance, the assessment for students' learning progress in a more consistent, reliable, and effective manner, and effective method. It is seen clearly from the questionnaire result that in accordance with the curriculum and standardized test definition, the best evaluation method of students' knowledge, learning progress, academic skills, and attitude is an exam.
In recent times, people are sometimes frustrated by many issues, such as the coronavirus, war, and inflation. Therefore, mental health and psychological well-being are very important for people. The aim of our research was to study how the mood changes by observing the full moon. Amateur astronomers at the National University of Mongolia meet every full moon day. On that day, they observe the moon, exchange information, draw pictures, and have fun. As a result of our research, we observed for a whole month that the person's mood improved. An amateur astronomer is a hobby where participants enjoy observing or imaging celestial objects in the sky using the unaided eye, binoculars, or telescopes. Even though scientific research may not be their primary goal, some amateur astronomers make contributions in doing citizen science, such as by monitoring variable stars, nebula, and moon asteroids by discovering transient astronomical events, such as comets or supernovae in other galaxies. Star parties are gatherings where professional and amateur astronomers set up their telescopes and invite people to come to learn about the night sky. Getting away from light pollution, or artificial skylights from buildings, for example, helps stargazers see objects in the sky much better. Our amateur astronomers are people of all ages and most of the members are currently students. Star parties provide students with many opportunities such as to develop themselves, make up for their academic delays, participate in social interactions, express themselves freely, and communicate in a proper manner. These star parties allow people to be involved in science. The figures below describe how star parties go on. Astronomy is an outdoor nature hobby, so the best way to begin is to go out into the night and learn the starry names and patterns overhead. The public who participated in the Star parties at the National University can be amateur astronomers.
Most educators experienced a number of difficulties when transitioning from a traditional face-to-face classroom to a virtual environment during the covid pandemic. One of the most important difficulties to overcome was students' passive engagement in online classrooms, which indicated that traditional classroom practice was in some ways inappropriate for online classes. As a result, as educators, we must have been on the lookout for creative strategies for teaching and engaging students during the global pandemic. Trying out and employing a range of strategies to encourage students was especially important for teachers who wanted to reduce dropout rates and help students build necessary abilities by instilling a passion for studying. We noticed that learners make progress in an online learning process if they have the ability to study independently without teacher supervision and can take control of their educational goals. Thus, we designed a four-part strategy for increasing student autonomy, through which we have been able to increase our students' academic performance and attitudes toward learning. Based on our accomplishments and failures over the past two years of online instruction, this paper aims to share our experiences and approaches for engaging our online learners.
