Abstract The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of a curriculum that improves the overall physical development and movement skills of students of universities and institutes, as well as to introduce a reform that is consistent with the principles of a liberal arts education that allows the opportunity to select from a wide range of sports. The study involved 650 students of National University of Mongolia, and impleted a 64-hour curriculum over a 4-month period. As a result, the leg strength of male students increased by an average of 10.3 cm and leg strength of female students increased by 12.5 cm, and indicators such as abdominal strength, arm strength, flexibility and movement skills improved statistically significantly (p<0.01). Female students also lost an average of 1.1 kg in body weight and 2.3 cm in waist circumference, indicating positive changes in body shape of students. Compared with the experience of foreign universities (Stanford, Cambridge, Tokyo, Seoul National University, Peking University), the reform program of the National University of Mongolia was consistent with the trend towards multi-sport options, club culture, quality of life, and psychological balance. This study demonstrates that even a short-term training program is effective in the physical development of students, and shows the opportunity to develop a liberal arts reform in the Mongolia with a multi-sport option.

Abstract: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of a structured strength training program on body structure and muscle development in female basketball players, using the NUM's "Falcons" team as a case study. The study was conducted with 13 female athletes from the Shonkhoruud (Falcons), the women's basketball team of the National University of Mongolia (NUM). Over a four-month period, the athletes followed a structured strength training program that incorporated both general and functional exercises using bodyweight and external resistance. Anthropometric data related to body structure and muscle mass were collected using 13 specific indicators at three period points: baseline (0 months), mid-point (2 months), and post-intervention (4 months). The data were analyzed using Repeated Measures ANOVA to identify statistically significant changes over time. The analysis revealed statistically significant changes in several anthropometric indicators. Specifically, the shoulder circumference increased by 1.6 cm, the upper arm circumference by 1.3 cm, and the waist circumference decreased by an average of 2.9 cm (p<0.05). These findings demonstrate that a structured strength training program can significantly enhance muscle development and improve body composition and structure in female basketball players. The study supports the inclusion of targeted strength training as an effective component of athletic development for female athletes.

This study examines the impact of physical education, particularly team sports, on students’ collaboration skills at the National University of Mongolia. In modern higher education, developing soft skills such as teamwork, communication, leadership, and emotional self-regulation has become essential. A total of 750 undergraduate students participated in a structured survey. The questionnaire included 30 items across 7 dimensions, based on internationally recognized tools. Data were analyzed using SPSS software; the instrument showed high reliability (α = 0.84) and strong expert validation. Results indicated that teamwork skills were rated highest (M = 3.45), while leadership skills were lower (M = 2.99). Significant positive correlations were found between teamwork and both decision-making (r = 0.689) and leadership (r = 0.601), all statistically significant (p < 0.01). The findings confirm that team-based sports positively influence students' social and emotional development. It is recommended that physical education curricula integrate methods such as rotating leadership roles, structured team discussions, and stress management techniques to better foster collaboration and leadership in higher education settings.

The purpose of this study was to determine the general physical development and level of preparation of university students and to evaluate the effectiveness of a 64-hour physical training program for a period of 4 months. The study involved 650 students from the National University of Mongolia, and their general physical development indicators were determined by a movement test. The results before and after the training program were compared and analyzed accordingly. The results of the study showed that male students lost an average of 0.23 kg in body weight, 0.57 cm in chest circumference, and 0.11 cm in waist circumference, which is an increase in muscle mass and a decrease in fat tissue. Female students lost an average of 1.1 kg in body weight, 1.1 cm in chest circumference, and 2.3 cm in waist circumference, which is a result of increased metabolism and improved body shape. The highest improvement in movement skill was in leg strength. The leg strength of male students increased by 10.3 cm and female students’ by 12.5 cm, which shows that the training program was implemented effectively. Abdominal strength of male students increased by 2.5 times and of female students by 3.2 times, which were important improvements. The hand stretching index increased by 1.2 times for male students and 1.5 times for female students, which shows the effectiveness of the training program. The flexibility index increased by 1 cm for male students and 2.24 cm for female students, but the standard deviation was higher than the other indicators, indicating that there are high differences due to individual body structure and joint mobility. The effectiveness of a curriculum aimed at improving the general physical development and movement skills of university students has been confirmed by this study, and it is necessary to include a special program in the content and methodology of the curriculum in order to increase flexibility. It is also concluded that a long-term study with a larger number of respondents is necessary to further confirm the results of the study.

This study aims to examine changes in the physical activity levels of university students between the periods of 2018-2019 and 2024-2025. The study assessed and compared leg strength, abdominal strength, arm strength, and body mass index (BMI) of 292 male and 788 female students. The study results revealed a significant decline in both abdominal and arm strength indicators for male and female students, with the changes being statistically significant (p<0.001). This decline can be attributed to reduced physical activity and the prevalence of a sedentary lifestyle, which are the primary factors contributing to the decrease in these indicators. The difference in foot force indicators between students from 2018-2019 and 2024-2025 was statistically insignificant (p=0.16), indicating that students' daily walking and general movement levels remained relatively unchanged. There was a slight increase in BMI scores, but this change was not statistically significant (p=0.45). This may be attributed to poor eating habits and reduced physical activity. The survey results highlight the need to enhance the physical activity levels of university students and promote the development of healthy lifestyle habits. Therefore, in conclusion it is essential to implement measures such as providing opportunities for exercise during school breaks, expanding physical education and club activities, and promoting healthy eating habits.

Summary Lack of physical activity and obesity have become one of society’s health challenges. The purpose of this study is to determine level of fitness, physical development and body mass index (BMI) of university students, and define the importance of physical activity. Methodology: Personal information of the study participants’ such as sex, age (birth year), height (in meters), weight (in kg) and BMI (kg/m²) was obtained using known calculation methods. Fitness level was determined using frequency, volume and time duration of physical activity performed per week on average using questionnaire method. Results: 93 percent of all male students and 74 percent of female students who participated in the study are engaged in some kind of physical activity. 89 percent of all male students and 67 percent of female students train twice or more times per week. This led us to believe the students understand the importance of being active. Conclusion: We concluded that although there is interest, need and desire among students to follow international training guides, there is lack of sports halls, gyms or parks where they can engage in sports activities. Therefore, we conclude, it is of utmost importance to implement wide-scope methodology, build more sports halls and gyms, and provide necessary equipment.

Abstract The purpose of this study is to improve the content and methodologies of the curriculum of the training courses for the development of the speed ability of high school students, who practice basketball. Study methodology, organization: When developing the speed capacity of the high school students of National Secondary School of Horinger country of Hohhot, the Inner Mongolia, a Chinese researcher Li Wenlong (2015) used the theory and concept of "developing the speed capacity of basketball players by improving strength capacity is an important part of training" in the research work. The movement test methodology was used to determine the general speed ability of the students and the basic technical speed level of basketball and to determine the results [3]. Survey result, conclusion: As a result of program for development of study respondents' general speed and basketball speed development, the 30m run is improved by 0,51 sec, 50m run by 0.72 sec, and 100m run by 0.36 sec. According to the basic technical parameters of basketball, the speed of the straight dribbling increased by 0.56 seconds, the dibbling speed around the 15 markers increased by 0.38 seconds, the speed of two students running on the 28-meter court by transferring the ball increased by 0.78 seconds, and the speed of the defensive transition improved by 4 times. We consider that the capacity of targeted exercises, tools, and exercise selection in the curriculum and planning models used in our study have become efficient.
